Baptism & Communion

Immersion Baptism

Baptism publicly celebrates your confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord alongside a commitment to follow Him daily.

“For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives,” Romans 6:4

The ordinance of baptism follows one’s confession of faith. It symbolizes death with Christ and celebrates the cleansing new life given through him. Baptism does not save or regenerate the believer but reveals a commitment to walk in obedience and newness of life in submission to Christ’s Lordship. Hope City Church practices immersion baptism of those who are able to make this conscious decision

Additional Scripture References: Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-7; 1 Peter 3:21.

Child Dedication

Let's celebrate your intention to raise your children to seek after the Lord.

“I asked the Lord to give me this child, and he has granted my request. Now I am giving them to the Lord, and they will belong to the Lord their whole life,” 1 Samuel 1:27-28

This opportunity allows you to partner with the church to ask for God's guidance and blessing on your family. Child dedication serves as a precursor to baptism until the child is able to make their own conscious decision to trust and obey God

Additional Scripture References: Mark 10:13-16; Luke 2:22-23; Ephesians 6:4

Communion

“As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.” And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.,” Matthew 26:26-28

Your participation in communion honors Christ’s sacrifice and his command to partake of the bread and the cup as an act of remembrance until he returns. Scripture encourages us to approach the communion table with a heart of repentance and find forgiveness for our sins as a member of God’s covenant family. This sharing in Christ’s body and blood, brings unity among believers through the power of the Spirit
